Charles Delos Wilkes, 82, of Fort Johnson passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 11, 2019 with is loving family by his side. Charles was born on November 8, 1936 to the late Ann (Schultz) and George Wilkes. He attended local schools and held several jobs throughout the area. He loved sports and was an avid Syracuse and Mets fan. He was united in marriage to Ms. Gladys Bassett on September 25, 2003. In addition to his wife Charles is survived by his daughter Lynne (James) Weir, grandson Matthew (Laura) Weir, granddaughter Jamie (Zach) Amuso, faithful brother and sister-in-law Robert and Ella Mae Bassett as well as several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Capstone Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their loving care. A private service will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 15829 Arlington, VA 22215.
