Charlotte (Noe) Holmes Browning 83, of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Shreveport, LA, passed away January 13, 2016. Charlotte was born September 23, 1932 in Wichita, KS to Elmer Luther and Nina Leola (Humbolt) Noe. She grew up in Wichita, KS where she graduated from East High School. Her undergraduate degree in Business was received from Wichita University where she was active in Pi Kappa Psi sorority. At the age of 63, Charlotte earned her Master's Degree in Human Ecology from Louisiana Tech University. Charlotte thoroughly enjoyed a successful career as a buyer at Higbee's, Cleveland, OH, Selber Bros. in Shreveport, LA; Embry's in Lexington, KY and Dillards in Shreveport, LA; retiring in 2000. She married Elmon Willis Holmes in 1968 and they had one son, Steven Holmes. After Elmon's death she married Martin Browning in 2002 and moved to Tucson. Charlotte was a true people person and loved being involved in community organizations. She was an active member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church; Assistance League of Tucson; UMC Friends and the Tucson Symphony Women's Association. She was a delightful and wonderful woman, loved by many, and will be dearly missed by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands. Charlotte is survived by her beloved son, Steven and wife, Kacy Holmes and precious grandchildren, Hunter, Alex and Kate, Richardson, TX as well as many cousins and friends. The family wishes to thank her many caregivers over the years that provided her with compassionate care. Funeral Services will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Tucson, AZ on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. A second service will be held at College Hill UMC in Wichita, KS on Tuesday, January 19, 2016. Burial follows at El Paso Cemetery, Derby, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Tucson, AZ or the National Parkinson Foundation.
