Charlotte Ann Kearney
January 11th, 1937 - October 19th, 2020
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on October 19, 2020. Charlotte Ann Kearney was born in River Rouge, Michigan January 11, 1937 to Carl and Ruth Pettit and sister to brother Carl Pettit and sister Janet (Pettit) Smith. In her early years, Charlotte moved to Detroit and recalls the long commutes to Cleveland for one of her first jobs. She then moved to Florida, staying with her sister Janet, where she worked as a secretary working for the department of defense wing division; one of her bosses being Chuck Yeager a record-setting test pilot who exceeded the speed of sound. While in Florida, she met Joseph ‘Mike’ Kearney, who was in the U.S. Air Force stationed at Eglin Air Force Base working as an air traffic controller. They dated, married, and started their family while continuing their love of country, which continued for more than 20 years. They transferred to Ramstein, Germany and really started a busy lifestyle. Imagine watching 4 boys in football and soccer, being heavily involved in a Church Orphanage with activities and fundraisers, golfing almost every day, all while raising 6 kids and working. Family life continued when they moved to McChord Air Force Base in Tacoma, Washington where their 7th child was born. Charlotte worked in the department of defense as a secretary to a flight surgeon, which she loved. Her active lifestyle continued while raising her family, staying involved with friends and community while golfing – even achieved a Hole-In-One! Her love of family and friends was Charlotte’s passion and was evident throughout her life. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph Michael Kearney, daughter Donna Kearney, and Charlotte’s siblings Carl Pettit and Janet Pettit. She is survived by six children, their spouses and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren: - Son, David Kearney and wife Debbie (Roberts) Kearney. David’s son Nathan Kearney and wife Brianna (Schulstrom) Kearney and daughter Caroline Kearney. - Son, Michael ‘Jay’ Kearney and wife Jadene (Mansfield) Kearney. Their daughter Maria Kearney; son Michael Kearney and his wife Casey (Dressel) and sons Noah and Everett; son John Kearney. - Son, Joseph ‘Joe’ Kearney and wife Renata (Lazik) Kearney. Joe and his children with Yolanda (Mulder) Kearney, son Albert Kearney and fiancé Sanna Oor; son Michael Kearney; son Dylan Kearney. - Son, Dan Kearney and wife Sabrina (Barela) Kearney. - Daughter, Julie (Kearney) Reed and husband Richard ‘Rick’ Reed, and children Dustin Reed, Jacob Reed, and Jacey Reed. - Son, Jeffrey ‘Jeff’ Kearney and wife Sabrina (Worthey) Kearney, and children Tyler Kearney, and Jazlyn Kearney.
