Charlotte M. Petermann
May 28th, 1937 - September 3rd, 2017
Charlotte M. Petermann lost her battle with Pancreatic Cancer on Sunday, September 3, 2017. She died peacefully at home surrounded by the love and presence of her husband and family members. Charlotte was born on May 28, 1937 in Fairview, MT, the second child of Charles and Evelyn (Pieters) Jewett. Her early years were spent in Eastern Montana, graduating from high school in Wibaux, MT, class of 1955. After high school, she lived in Billings, MT, until 1959 when she flew to Stuttgart, Germany to be with her husband, Ernie Petermann, who was in the U.S. Army. Her son, Steven, was born in an Army hospital there. After returning to the U.S. two years later and following her husband’s Army career, she lived at various times in Colorado, Missouri, Virginia, Minnesota, California, Utah and finally Washington. Daughter Cheryl joined the family in Missouri and son Jeffrey was born after moving to Washington. Charlotte had significant work experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and office administration, and most recently worked for the Woo Family Corporation in Lacey, WA, owners of Arirang Market and other businesses. She retired in October 2015 after more than 30 years. She successfully balanced work and home, and was dedicated and competent at any endeavor she chose. Her hobbies and interests were music, gardening and flowers, sewing, home and family, activities at Lacey Senior Center, and her church. She was preceded in death by her parents; and grandson, Alex Petermann. She is survived by husband, Ernie Petermann; son, Steven Petermann (Suzette); daughter, Cheryl Petermann (Friend Brian); son, Jeffrey Petermann (Kari); sister, Darlene Brown of MT; and brothers, James and Dennis Jewett of MN. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Travis Petermann, Michael Miller, Michelle Bakken, Melissa Miller, Nicole Miller, Karissa Ford, Carson Ford, Edward Petermann, Elise Petermann and Elliott Petermann. There are also nine great grandchildren, many nieces and nephew, and a host of friends and acquaintances, who will miss her presence.
