Charlotte Francis Rubio
December 15th, 1946 - October 27th, 2023
Charlotte Francis Rubio 76, of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away Friday, October 27, 2023, withher family by her side. Charlotte was born December 15, 1946, in Norfolk, Virginia, to Esther Fields and Charles Smith. Charlotte had a great love for life. She proudly raised and showed dogs and had manycherished fur babies over the years. She loved skiing, duck hunting, bike riding of which she participated in 150-mile bike rides for the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation and most of all enjoying time with her family. She worked most of her life in administration for various offices which included medical, veterinary and law. She will be most remembered for her sense of humor, easy going nature, patience and her unfailing devotion to all she loved. She met each day with a smile and always had a hug for anyone who needed it. Charlotte is survived by her sons Robert (Kathy)Davidson, Charles Kemppa, Matthew Kemppa all of Summerville, SC. daughter Carolyn (Paul J.) Vasta of Gloucester, VA. Brother Richard (Sandra) Smith. Sisters Patricia (Joseph) Spingarn, Debbie (Roger) Spruill and Nancy Goldberg. Grandchildren Timothy (Missy) Gehring, Chrisha (William) DeSpain, Amandalyn (Tyler) Gehring and Paul M. Vasta; Great-Grandchildren Tyler Gehring, Aspen Gehring and Emma DeSpain. Numerous Nieces, nephews and cherished lifelong friends and her cat Rosie. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Denny Mathis. The family wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many expressions of love, concern and kindness shown to them during this hour of bereavement. In keeping with Charlotte’s wishes no funeral services will be held. However, a celebration of Charlotte’s life and scattering of ashes will take place on her birthday December 15, 2023. For more information on this event please contact her son Robert Davidson. In lieu of flowers Charlotte asked that those inclined make a donation in her name to Stroke Association, MS foundation or their local pet shelter.
