Mrs. Charlotte Jane Smith, age 78 of Auburndale passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 in Tampa, Florida. Mrs. Smith was born in Naples, Florida to John and Carrie Cochran Townsend and had lived in this area for the past 30 years moving from Clayton, Georgia. She was a retired Para with the Polk County School Board and attended Life Church of Auburndale. She is survivied by her husband, John Allen Smith, 2 sons, Clington and Charles Smith, her daughter, Nancy McCutcheon, 2 sisters, Carabelle Pendrey and Loretta Hyman, 2 brothers, Thurston Townsend and John Arthur "Dick" Townsend, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
