Charlotte "June" H. Westlake
May 25th, 1934 - July 3rd, 2024
Charlotte June Harrison Westlake died July 3, 2024 , in Tampa. She was born in a farmhouse in Antioch ,Arkansas on May 25,1934. Her youth was spent living between her grandparent's farm near Beebee , Arkansas and Pryor, Oklahoma. She was valedictorian at her high school and was a leader in many extracurricular activities. While attending nursing school, in Tulsa,Oklahoma ,she met her future husband Bill. There were fireworks from the start. While raising their four children she and her husband developed several businesses including Westlake & Westlake Realtors. In 2011, she received an award from GTAR for her 40 years of professionalism as a broker. June was very patriotic. She worked at the election polls for over 20 years and spoke at public hearings. She was an active member of the Methodist ladies groups Women of the Well and Ruth’s Circle. She participated in the Wonder Walk for over 40 years to raise funds for needy children. June loved being a mom and Granny. She was a Girl Scout leader and little league baseball mom. She loved to travel and visited nearly every state including Alaska.One year, she and her husband decided to take the family camping across the US. They tent and Coleman-stove and lantern camped for nearly 3 months. They visited over 25 state and national parks. She was adventurous. Her first time camping was at age 17 ,on her honeymoon ,at Hillsbrough State Park. Her favorite hobbies were reading, swimming ,gardening, family history, garage sales, learning , talking on the phone, and being a missionary. She was an accomplished seamstress and sewed many of her and her children’s dresses and suits. She loved flowers in the garden and on her clothing.
June is survived by her four children, Debra Sue Westlake ,Charlie Westlake(Michaela),Dave Westlake(Carolyn)and Doug Westlake,six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Stan(Donna) and sister Charline (John ), sister-in-law Betty(Alvin)and many nieces and nephews, In lieu of flowers, contributions should be given to Oak Grove Methodist Church.

Funeral services for Charlotte will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 12, 2024 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Tampa. Viewing and visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Tampa.
