Cheryl Ann Stephens
July 15th, 1949 - February 16th, 2014
Wilmore, KY Cheryl Ann Stephens, 64, died February 16, 2014. She is survived by her son CH (CPT) Aron Stephens and two grandchildren Aiden Isaac Stephens and Kinley Sage Stephens. Born in Baltimore, MD, she graduated with a MSW from Florida State, a M. Div. from Asbury Theological Seminary and was credentialed as a certified candidate with the United Methodist Church. Cheryl was an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God and served as Connection Pastor and in pastoral care ministry, jail ministry and teaching Lifeline/Living Free Teen Challenges classes. As she grew in her faith, she learned to articulate the central theme of her religious heritage and some theology that has informed her pastoral care. Prayer, forgiveness and hope were vital themes when it came to her ministering and doing pastoral care. She had attended Baptist, Catholic School and the Episcopal Church before entering the UMC. After attending the Assemblies of God church, she learned of the Pentecostal Movement, Gifts and Fruit of the Holy Spirit, which grew her beliefs in the unlimited power , mercy and grace of God through Jesus Christ. Her ministry was centered around directing people to look at themselves as beloved children of God, instead of defining themselves by their past. Cheryl loved people, hiking and anything outdoors. She was gifted at counseling, ministering and studying/teaching the Bible. She was also a faithful servant for Asbury College and The American Red Cross. Funeral Information Buial will be at 2 PM, at The Wilmore Cemetery Friday, February 21, 2014. Donations Links: Voice of The Martyrs Compassion International
