Biography Chris Martin Prickett Viera, Florida Chris Martin Prickett passed away on October 13, 2010 following a valiant battle with esophageal cancer. He formerly lived in Burlington Township, New Jersey; North Miami Beach, Florida; Willingboro Township, New Jersey; Burlington City, New Jersey; and Lumberton, New Jersey, before he and his wife moved to Viera, Florida to be closer to family. Chris was born in Mount Holly, New Jersey in December 1951 to his parents Kenneth M. Prickett and Beatrice (nee Barber) Prickett, both residing in Florida. He has one brother, Dr. Jeffrey L. Prickett and his wife Linda (nee Warren) residing in Florida. His brother was instrumental in fighting his illness with alternative medicines. He attended Springside Elementary School, Burlington Township High School, St. Joseph College of Florida, and Biscayne College (now St. Thomas University), where he received his BA in accounting. He retired from the NJ Superior Court-Burlington County as a Financial Specialist in the Central Processing Office in 2007 due to illness. Also he worked at his father's Service Station of Keim Blvd Exxon (Esso) between the years 1966 to 1985, until his father sold the station. Chris is survived by his lovely wife of 31 years, Susan C. (nee Guest) Prickett, their two daughters Heather N. and her husband Jerry Hebert residing in Florida; and Rachel M. Prickett residing in Florida. He has one grandson: Anthony N. Cox. He has one surviving aunt on his mother's side: Rita (nee Trava) Barber along with the following first cousins: Douglas Barber; Mona (nee Moore) McCourt; Keith Borden; Claire (nee Borden) Cox; Jill Borden; Bill Borden; Hope (nee Jennings) Gall; Carol (Jennings) Bachman; Janet (nee Prickett) Rolnick; and Richard Prickett. With many first cousins 1x removed and beyond. Chris is also survived by the following in-laws: Donald Guest; Margaret (nee Guest) Chmielenski; David Guest; and Paul Guest. Along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He enjoyed the following hobbies: bowling and family genealogy. He was also very supportive of his wife's hobbies of sewing and quilting. Chris would like to thank his first cousin Richard Prickett for first getting him started in 1992 on his quest for their family roots. He is very thankful to the many family members and genealogists that helped along the way. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the any of the following: Burlington County Library, Westampton, New Jersey for the NJ Room Genealogy Section and the Burlington County Genealogy Club; Wuesthoff Hospice and Palliative Care, Viera, Florida; and Calvary Chapel, Viera Campus. Services will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 11am at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home, 5400 Village Drive, Viera, Florida. A reception will follow.
