Chris Allen Wampler passed away on July 22, 2009 in Chico, CA at the age of 48. He was surrounded by family and friends. Chris was born April 3, 1961 in Glendale, CA to Bruce and Bonnie Wampler. Chris was the middle of two siblings. He moved to Chico with his family in 1970. Chris was very active in sports, excelling in baseball and football. He also loved snow skiing in the winter and camping and water skiing on his boat in the summer. Chris graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in 1979. After high school, Chris began his 30 year career as an ironworker. Chris was a very successfull and talented ironworker and loved his work. Chris is preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Bonnie Wampler. He is survived by his daughters, Nicole Moretto, Courtney Wampler; grandson, Anthony Moretto; brother, Craig Wampler; sister, Heather Dwyer; and two neices and two nephews. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Community Church Gym on Floral Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
