Memorial

Obituary Peyton resident Christian Louis Barela what is called home to rest on June 4, 2022. Christian was born on February 2, 2002 in Colorado Springs, the son of Francisco Barela and Myra Fuller. Christian graduated from falcon high school in 2020 and aspired to become a certified mechanic someday. Christian was a much-loved son, brother, grandson, cousin, and friend. He loved spending time with his family and friends, including his beloved dog Gizmo. He enjoyed playing video games with his friends and listening to music. He was a young man with his own unique style and was often seen wearing his tie dye shirts, funky socks, hoodies, beanies, and of course his vans shoes. Christian was a collector of many things, but his hot wheels cars was probably what he loved to collect the most, ever since he was a kid. He loved the TV shows Family Guy and Rick and Morty, and he loved watching horror movies. He was a typical boy and liked paintball, dirt bikes, hiking, and learning everything he could about cars. He was extremely adventurous and enjoyed spending time outdoors in the mountains or exploring any new place he could find. Christian was a huge fan of McDonalds chicken nuggets and often ate them every day when he could. Christian was goofy and loved making people laugh, but he was also the voice of reason when he needed to be; he was also the first person that would give you a compliment. He was unconditionally kind, loving, and accepting of others. He will be truly missed by so many that loved him. He is survived by his father, Francisco Barela (Amanda Alexander), his mother, Myra Fuller (Damien Maitin), and his sisters, Ezri Barela (Jeremiah Mabrey), Melanie Fuller (Bo Lee) and Savanah Fuller. He is also survived by his paternal grandparents, Larry Garsez and Sandra Mondragon; his paternal great-grandmother, Sara Garsez, his maternal grandfather, Ronald Lanning, and his Aunt Shawna Fuller. He is also survived by numerous great-aunts and uncles, cousins and friends whom he loved. Christian was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents, Louis and Margie Mondragon and Reynaldo "Rey" Garsez, as well as his maternal great grandmother, Dolores St.Claire-Klist.
