On August 14, 2022, Christine Pinnock Barney passed away in Federal Way, Washington, due to natural causes. She was 71 years old at the time of her passing. Christine Pinnock Barney was born on July 14, 1951, to John and Thelma Pinnock in Rexburg, Idaho. She is survived by her sister Cheryl Madsen, her two sons, Darwin and DJ Barney, and many wonderful other family members and friends who knew her. She is preceded in death by her daughter Janece Barney, her parents, her brothers, Tex and Terrell Pinnock, and her sister Charlene Tillock, along with many beloved family members and friends. Christine attended Sugar Salem High School and graduated in May of 1969. While in school, Christine was active in extracurricular activities, including the school drill team and the marching band. She also participated in the local Junior Miss Pageant and was voted Miss Congeniality. While in school, she started working at Artic Circle. It was at Artic Circle that she met and fell in love with Dell Ray Barney. They were later married and had three children. The youngest child, Janece Barney, passed away as a baby after a battle with spinal meningitis. Christine always spoke with fondness of being reunited with her beloved daughter in the next life and now has her wish. While married to Dell Ray Barney, they raised their two boys and enjoyed many camping adventures and road trips together. Christine had a love of music and the theater. One of her most memorable roles was playing the part of Madame Arcti in Blithe Spirit – a play put on at the local community theater in St. Anthony, Idaho. Chris also enjoyed singing in her church and was frequently called on to sing “How Great Thou Art.” After raising her children, she decided it was time to embark on another adventure and moved to Auburn, Washington. While in Auburn, she acted in numerous plays and continued her love of singing in her church. She also attended Green River Community College and was working towards obtaining a degree in counseling. Services for Christine will be held at the chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 625 M Street NE, Auburn, Washington 98002, on August 20th, 2022, with a viewing at 10:00 a.m., followed by a celebration of life service at 11:00 a.m. Because Christine lived a full and enriching life another celebration of life service for Christine will be held on August 27th, 2022, at the chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 6 North Teton Avenue, Sugar City, Idaho 83448.
