Christine D. Harrison
May 21st, 1962 - February 18th, 2019
Harrison, Christine "Christina" 05/21/1962-02/18/2019, passed away after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her beloved son, Cruz Castillo, her mother, Kathryn, father, sister Lorraine Lasswell, brother-in-law Gary Lasswell, much-loved extended family, and many cherished friends. Christina was born in Santa Fe, NM, attended Santa Fe High School and graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1980. During high school, Christina enjoyed working at The French Pastry Shop. After high school, she was an office assistant in the Santa Fe District Attorney's Office, NM Prison Riot Investigation Unit. Christina attended NM Highlands University, transferring to NM State University where she graduated in 1987 with a B.A. in Journalism/Mass Communications. She won several awards for her writing and documentary film. Christina interned with CNN, Atlanta, GA. She later worked in the movie industry as a production assistant and controller, in San Antonio, Tucson, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles and Santa Fe. Christina also worked as a legal secretary for several Santa Fe law firms and as an assistant research analyst for an environmental firm. From 1994-1998 Christina was Owner/Manager of Alegria Liquors and Club Alegria. She later worked as business manager for another local business. During the years she lived in La Cienega, she served as secretary of their Acequia Association. More recently, Christina became a self-taught genealogist and shared her many amazing discoveries with family and friends. Additionally, in 2017, Christina's research resulted in her being accepted as a member of The National Society of the Daughter's of the American Revolution (DAR). Mass will be held Saturday, March 2, 2019, 9:30 a.m., at the historic San Isidro Catholic Church, 3688 Agua Fria St., Santa Fe. Reception to follow off site at noon. In lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation to Gerard's House for grieving children and families or charity of their choice.
