December 9th, 1960 - May 31st, 2022
Tribute Christine Marie Gross Kanka was born December 9th 1961 to David and Rita M. Gross in Denver, Colorado. She passed away May 31st in Littleton Hospital of a very dangerous and fast-moving cancer. Christie was very active and curious all of her life. She attended Denver Public Schools for her elementary and middle school years. She graduated from Cherry Creek High School in 1979. Christie received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing from Regis University and then went on to attain a Masters Degree in Nursing. She worked in several Denver area Hospitals but mostly at Lutheran Medical Center as a Cardiac Surgery Nurse. Christie was married to Del Kanka. They had 23 wonderful years together but there were no children. They loved their pets and have many great memories of them and of each other. She leaves behind her parents, Joe and Rita Gross, her brother Stephen Gross, her sister Patricia Gross and her husband Del Kanka. There will be a Memorial Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 3791 Rd. Longmont (So. Airport Rd and Pike Rd.) on June 15th 2022 at 10 am Reception to follow Services Memorial Mass Wednesday June 15, 2022 10:00 AM St Francis of Assisi 3791 Pike Road Longmont, CO 80503
