Christine A Kawryga
September 12th, 1952 - July 23rd, 2021
Christine A. Kawryga, 68, passed away on July 23, 2021 after a short battle with cancer. As the oldest member of our crazy family, Christine was our rock - we all went to her when we needed advice and especially when we needed to laugh. She is survived by her mother Mary Ann Hannay (Presbyla), brothers Larry and Mark Hannay, sisters Donna Hannay Castillo and Paula Hannay, niece Kendall Castillo, who she shared a very close bond with, two nieces, Emily and Maeghan and nephew, Collin, boyfriend Kurt S. von Trier and feline friends Mr. Cheeks and Ziggy. Christy was a crazy cat lady, avid SU fan, and lover of Lyncourt Bakery's halfmoon cookies. She was also a voracious reader and frequented Haslam's bookstore in St. Pete. Even at her age, she was an avid Dr. Mario fan. Her sisters and niece are super fans of Nancy Sinatra's Greatest Hits album and the song "Jackson" will forever remind them of her. Her brother Larry is also grateful for getting him his best job ever at Onondaga County Health Department Mosquito Control, and her brother Mark is thankful for and will never forget her caring nature. She will be missed more than she could ever know and remains forever in our hearts. There will be no calling hours or service. Her immediate family and close friends will gather at Treasure Island in St. Pete in the near future to celebrate her most wonderful, but oh-too-short, life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Humane Society and Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine.
