RIGGS, Christine Marie, LPN Died of complications from cancer on February 23, 2017 at home under the care of hospice. She was 69. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Lew Riggs and her children, Terri Thompson and John Stiemke, both of Adams Friendship, Wisconsin; also two sisters, Marsha Manginess in Negaunee Michigan and Marilyn Davis of Tucson, as well as three brothers, Thomas and Melvin Anderson of Negaunee and Douglas Anderson of Tucson. She had three granddaughters who she adored; Emily, Leyla and Trelina Stiemke who reside in Wisconsin. In 1999 Chris achieved her life's goal of becoming a nurse, graduating with an LPN from Pima Community College. Her desire was to be a bedside nurse for the elderly and dying. For ten years she was a beloved nurse at two nursing homes in Tucson and Green Valley where families wrote to her about the remarkable selfless caring she provided to their loved ones. Chris was a devout Christian, a warm and giving person who inspired everyone who knew her. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Northminster Presbyterian Church. It is requested that lieu of flowers a donation be made to the University of Arizona Cancer Center where she was lovingly cared for over seven years by a talented team of doctors and nurses. Arrangements entrusted to ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.
