January 23rd, 1934 - July 22nd, 2012

Christine Mary (Weigum) Olson, 78, of Boise, formerly of Mackay, ID, loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend, went to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ on July 22, 2012. The eighth of ten children born to Robert A. Weigum and Mae [Clouse] Weigum, Christine was born in her grandmother’s house in Belfield, North Dakota, on January 23, 1934. Christine had three brothers and six sisters and spent her childhood in North Dakota, where she graduated from Belfield High School in 1951. After achieving her Teaching Certificate, Christine remained in North Dakota where she taught grades one through eight in a one-room school house for two years. Relocating to Kansas City, Missouri , Christine obtained her Airline Certificate and went to work for Continental Airlines. On April 22, 1955, she married Bonnell Gordon Olson (from Beach. ND) in Casper, Wyoming. Bonnell and Christine’s first child, a daughter, was born in Casper, and in 1957, the young family relocated to Idaho Falls, Idaho, where their next three children were born. In April 1965, Bonnell and Christine moved to Mackay, Idaho, where they welcomed the birth of their fifth child. Christine’s greatest loves were her family and her God. Christine is survived by her Daughters Nancy [Mark] Hunter, Judy [Ronald] Johnson, Jamie [Norman] Johnson, and Christina Olson; Three granddaughters, two grandsons, one great-granddaughter and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, her parents, three brothers, and three sisters. The family wishes to thank the many individuals who provided such loving care to our precious Christine, with a special thanks to Dr. Robert Duerr and staff, Dr. Lisa Kern and staff, St. Luke’s Hospice, and the many dedicated and gifted caregivers at St. Luke’s. Graveside services will be held at Mount McCaleb Cemetery, Mackay, Idaho, Friday, July 27, 2012 at 1:00 PM. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. 208-459-0833. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Christine’s honor to one of the following charities: The Idaho Food Bank [208] 336-9643, 3562 S. Tk Ave, Boise, ID 83705, idahofoodbank.org; or Boise Rescue Mission [208] 389-9840 PO Box 1494, Boise, ID 83701 http://www.boiserm.org/# Christine cherished reading the Bible; her most beloved Bible verse being John 14: 1-7 Let not your heart be troubled, ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself that where I am there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. Condolences can be made online at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com Service Information
