Christine Lynn Sears

A funeral service will be held for Christine Lynn Baker-Sears, 51 of Placerville, California, on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center on Spruce Street in Gridley. Christine quietly passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at her home in Placerville. She was born April 6, 1961 to Malcolm and Lily Baker in Gridley, California. Christine grew up in the Gridley/Biggs/Oroville area. She graduated from Biggs High School and went on to graduate from California State University, Chico. Christine worked for Pacific Coast Producers for 16 years. Christine was a wife, mother, 4-H volunteer, FFA Booster, lover of anything Disney, but most of all she was a great friend. Christine's love of animals and helping children guided her path in taking active roles in 4-H, after settling in Placerville in 1998, with her husband and young family. Christine was the Square Shooters club leader and a member of County Council. Christine was also rabbit project leader. Christine and her daughter were active in the Northern California rabbit show circuit, exhibiting in most major events. Christine received several awards and recognitions for her exemplary work and dedication to the children of El Dorado County and Butte County. Christine is survived by her husband, Russell; two sons, Grant and Benjamin and daughter, Rebecca, all of Placerville. Her parents reside in E. Biggs as does her brother, Steven; her sister Shelly (Buck) Baker resides in Oroville. Her survivors include her husband Russell, two sons, Grant and Benjamin and daughter Rebecca all of Placerville; brother, Steven Baker of East Biggs; and sister Shelly Baker of Oroville. Arrangements are under the direction of Affordable Mortuary in Chico.
