Christopher James Buechel
August 12th, 1955 - June 28th, 2019
Christopher James Buechel, 63, passed away June 28, 2019 at his Olympia, Washington residence, following a five-year battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. He leaves his wife of 16 years, Janet Buechel; his sons, Adam and Ben Buechel; his two granddaughters, Avery and Addison Buechel; his sister, Mary Kay Fannin; his brother, Gary Buechel; his aunts, Betty Buechel and Mary Eppich; six step-children; eight step-grandchildren; and many close friends. Born in Detroit, Michigan, on August 12, 1955, the son of James and Betty Ann Buechel, he and his family moved to Columbus, Ohio, when he was a young boy. In his early years, Chris attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Delaware and continued on to graduate from Buckeye Valley School District with the class of 1973. He played many roles throughout his life, such as landlord, coach, and entrepreneur, but ultimately, he completed his career as the sole owner and operator of Rotary Products Inc. Chris had purchased Rotary Products Inc. from his father 40 years ago when it was located in Dublin, Ohio. In 1981, Chris moved the company from Dublin to Ashley, Ohio, where it continues on today as a family-owned business. Chris loved to bowl, golf, fish, ride motorcycles, travel, play poker, and spend time with family and friends. He was a fan of the Reds, Bengals and Buckeyes, remaining faithful to their efforts his entire life. He was quick to tell you a joke, and always ready to listen to yours. Before his marriage to Janet, Chris had been married to Barbara Stine for several years and, through that marriage, the two of them had two loving sons, Adam and Ben Buechel. Chris believed in giving back to his community and supported the local little league teams and food bank in Ashley, Ohio. His life benefited the community of Ashley and he will be missed. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 20, 2019, 11:30 a.m. at All Occasion Catering, 6989 Waldo-Delaware Rd., Waldo, OH 43356.
