Christopher Joseph Morse

Obituary Christopher Joseph Morse, loving husband, son, brother and friend passed away January 3, 2021 at the age of 28. Chris had a passion for enjoying life, friends, and outdoor activities. He was an avid snowboarder, skateboarder, and gym rat who enjoyed sharing his enthusiasm with anyone he could. He was known for being an extremely bright, quick witted and a courteous man that had touched so many people, he will be truly missed by many. Chris was born in Fort Worth, TX on December 15, 1992. He played AYA Texas Football and other sports throughout his grade school years. The family eventually moved to Fort Collins, CO in 2003. Christopher continued to play football for Weber Jr. High. Once entering Rocky Mountain High School, he and his buddies found the love of snowboarding and after graduation a VW Camper Bus and Snowbum Careers were discussed before going to college and becoming Beer Aficionados. Chris eventually decided to enlist becoming the 4th generation in the family to do so. He joined the United States Marine Corps as a Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense Specialist and achieved the rank of Corporal. He was stationed with the Chemical Biological Incident Response Force (CBIRF) unit based at Naval Support Facility Indian Head in Indian Head, Maryland under the command of the United States Marine Corps Forces. He earned the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Navy/Marine Corps Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal, 4 Letters of Appreciation and the Expert Rifle Qualification Badge. After completing his enlistment in the Marine Corps, Chris enlisted in the US Army as an Infantryman and achieved the rank of Sergeant. He served as a Team Leader in 3rd PLT "Hooligans", Crazyhorse Company, 2nd Battalion 23rd Infantry Regiment "Tomahawks", 1st Stryker Brigade, 4th Infantry Division located at Fort Carson, CO. There he was awarded the Army Service Ribbon and the Army Achievement Medal, as well as completing the Basic Leaders Course, Non Lethal Weapons Instructor and NBC Defense Course. Chris is survived by his wife Audrey, his parents Sam and Lisa; his brothers and their spouses, William and Ashley Morse, Jonathan and Taylor D. Morse, and sister Taylor Morse; grandparents Pauline Montano, Bernard and Sandy Morse; his uncle and aunt Todd and Kelly Morse and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be missed and mourned by many Brothers and Sisters-in-Arms, both Marine and Army. His funeral will be held at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs on January the 22nd at 1:00 PM with his burial to follow at Pikes Peak National Cemetery.
