Christopher Forrest Peterson
April 30th, 1980 - September 9th, 2016
Obituary Christopher F. Peterson died on September 9, 2016. Though we moved all over the country while he was growing up, he called Basalt Colorado his home town. He graduated from Basalt High School in 1998. He joined the army right out of high school. Christopher served in the Army Signal Corp for 6 years and worked in the same field of satellite communications for the past 12 years in the private sector for Honeywell, Lockheed Martin and Integrity Applications, Inc. Christopher really loved animals and had a romantic nature. He also loved ancient arts of the Samurai and Sun Tzu Art of War. He was an avid science fiction and fantasy reader and a video game enthusiast. He also dabbled at guitar and violin. He had a brilliant mind and many gifts. A favorite song he once shared with me and bought me the CD was Evanescence Bring me to Life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YxaaGgTQYM His favorite lullaby as a baby was the chorus from Psalm 27. He is survived by wife Katie Peterson and her family the Simshausers; Mother, Sherri Miller-Rairigh & Mark Rairigh, Stepfather; Brother, Michael Peterson & Andriana Peterson, Sister-in-law and Ian Peterson, Nephew; Grandma Faye Benafield, Great Auntie Lena Caldwell, Aunt Alicia Benafield, Uncle Chad Chappell and cousin Andrew Chappell; Uncle David Chappell & Aunt Candace Chappell, Cousins Holt & Carson Chappell; Cousin Star Lavin & Brandon Lavin 2nd Cousins Morgan Lavin, Austin and Clayton Flora; Cousin Chloe Miller, 2nd Cousins Dakota, Kahlia and Leilani; Siblings: Joe Hovland, Hannah Hovland, Matthew DeLaria, Jacob Rairigh. Christopher is predeceased by Grandfather, Fred Miller; Grandfather, Don Benafield; Aunt, Geraldine Miller; Grandmother Helen Peterson; and Father, Ron Peterson.
