Cipriano Euresti

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Cipriano Euresti. He went into the loving arms of Jesus Christ on November 12, 2019. He came into this world on September 16, 1920, the eldest son of Bruno and Genoveva Euresti. He was blessed with 99 years of life on this earth. Cipriano served in the United Stated Army during World War II from December 1942 until January 1946 when he was honorably discharged. He served under the 388th Military Police Battalion in the European Theatre for 24 months. He received the WWII Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Campaign Medal, and EAME Campaign Medal with one Bronze Star. One of his duties while in France and Germany was to escort 5000 POWs from Requiel, France to a town near Marseilles, France. He truly was, like others who served in World War II, a part of the Greatest Generation. He talked very little about the war; he felt very strongly that he had a duty as an American citizen to defend this nation. Cipriano worked very hard all his life to support his family and extended family members. He made sure he instilled a strong work ethic to his children as well. He believed that hard work and education, whether it was college or trade school, were keys to taking good care of family. He was a member of Local Union 720 with over 20 plus years of active work membership and 34 years as a retired member. For many years he worked as a crew leader in the Ft. Collins and Greeley area. He worked for several construction companies including Hensel Phelps. Besides raising 8 children, he and our mother helped raise over 30 foster children. Our dad and mom were married for over 70 years until December 2018, when we lost our mom. We will sadly miss our dad for the rest of our lives. Cipriano is survived by his children – Albert (Stefanie) Euresti, David (Sharon) Euresti, Eddie (Christine) Euresti, Cipriano JR Euresti, Jennie (Shayne) Euresti, Adele (Tom). He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as two sisters, Eloisa Salazar and Nancy Euresti. He is also survived by two nieces, Elida and Juanita Padilla, whom they raised since early childhood. Cipriano was preceded in death by his little girl, Allie, and son, Mario, as well as his wife, Janie. Cipriano was an organ and tissue donor. As a last act of service, he donated skin tissue to be used for burn victims. Visitation 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Adamson. Recitation of the Rosary 10 a.m. followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. A reception will follow at the Greeley VFW Post #2121.
