Claire Chetham November 6, 1931 – January 5, 2018 Claire Chetham 86, of Longmont passed away January 5th 2018 surrounded by her three children. She was born November 6, 1931 at home as the first child, in Everett, MA to Charles M. Zellen and Gertrude J. Zellen (Beck). She graduated from Chevarus High School, Malden MA in 1950 (girls Catholic HS closed 1971) and Whidden Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1953, Everett MA. On September 4, 1953 she married John H Chetham of Somerville MA. She raised her four children. She was a selfless Mom always putting her kids first. She loved her Husband, family, children, grands and great grandchildren with all her heart. After raising her kids, Claire worked at Weston Pediatrics as a Pediatric nurse until her retirement. Claire’s interests shared with her husband John were Ball Room and Square Dancing. Another passion was their many travels to Hawaii with her two Johns. Claire lived with her husband and family in Sudbury, MA for 43 years until 2004. She moved to Colorado to be closer to children and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband John H. Chetham, her son John (Johnny) R. Chetham, her brother Charles (Chuck) Zellen and her parents. She is survived by three of her children Susan Chetham Howard of SC, Paul Chetham of Denver and Steven Chetham of Boulder and grandchildren, Rebecca (Howard) Atkinson, Sean Howard, Megan Howard, Rachel (Chetham) Summers, Sarah Chetham, Michael Chetham, Ryan Chetham and Matthew Chetham. Also, her great grandchildren Ben Atkinson, Madelyn Atkinson, Landon Howard and Nolan Howard. Claire also survived by brothers; Tom Zellen, wife Anne of Peabody, MA, Michael Zellen, wife Donna of Peabody, MA, Richard Zellen, wife Marilyn of Broomfield CO, along with a host of first and great; nieces and nephews. Two dear friends, school chum-Muriel Nealy Nelson, MA and Elsie Terao, CO. A Catholic Mass and celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 20th at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, Longmont, CO. A gathering of family and friends will follow at her son's home. A final resting place for her will be with her husband, John and son Johnny. Cremation entrusted to Carroll-Lewellen Funeral & Cremation Services.
