Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel - Payette
Claire Williams Englehorn
October 31st, 1922 - March 14th, 2015
Claire Englehorn, 92, of Fruitland, passed away in her sleep Saturday, March 14, 2015 at her home. A gathering will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 20th at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Cremation and services are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Condolences may be made to Claire's family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com. Claire was born Leslie Claire Williams on Oct. 31, 1922 in Ontario, OR to Henry and Abagail Williams. She joined sisters, Mildred, Helen, Thelma and brother, Harold. Her entire life was spent living just south of Fruitland, except for a very short stint in Florida. She married Eugene Snyder in 1941 and they had two sons, Larry and Leslie shortly thereafter. Gene, unfortunately, was killed in a work related accident in 1945. She married her second husband, Bill Englehorn, in 1947. They lived in the Fruitland area together until his passing in 1999; she remained in the same area for the rest of her years. She loved travel, gardening and her dog, Buddie. She would also sit for hours and watch the birds through her window and could almost tell to the day when the humming birds would appear. On the other hand, her worst enemies were the weeds in her lawn. If you knew her, you knew it had to be just perfect or someone was going to hear about it. She worked for several years here in the valley mostly at the Wells and Davies packing plant in Payette and helping out with the bookkeeping chores for the auto repair shop that Bill operated. Claire is survived by her two sons, Larry and Leslie, six grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her three sisters and her brother. Donations may be made to her favorite charity, the Salvation Army, c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, PO Box 730, Payette, ID 83661. Service Details.
