Claire Fitzgerald

FITZGERALD, Claire, 90, of Land O’ Lakes, FL, passed away March 5, 2018. Claire was born in Cambridge, MA, moved to Naples, FL in 1996 and later settled in Land O’ Lakes in 2014. Claire was a proud homemaker. She was an active member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. She enjoyed decorating, traveling and cooking. She loved spending time with family which was her main focus. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, James William Fitzgerald Jr; three daughters, Maureen Cleri, Kathleen Frigard and Barbara Mermin. She is survived by three daughters, Joan Giordano and her husband, Edward, Nancy Fitzgerald and Patricia Mahan; nine grandchildren, Lisa Sherwin, Michael Giordano, Danielle Jorge, Megan Manchester, Daniel Manchester, Jamie Mahan, Alex Mahan, Ian Mahan and Jonathan Mahan; four great grandchildren, Andrew Giordano, Cayden Giordano, Luke Giordano and Nathan Giordano; sister, Helen Murphy known also as Sister Claire of Maryknoll Mother House in Ossining, NY. A funeral mass will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. on March 13, at Loyless Funeral Home. A graveside service with honors will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Sarasota National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Michael J.
