"South Hadley - Claire N. (Lysiak) Pupek, 84, of Karen Dr. passed away on May 28, 2011 surrounded by her family in Holyoke Health Care Center. She was born November 17, 1926 in Montague, MA, daughter of the late Stephen W. and Annie R. (Brassor) Lysiak. Claire worked as a clerk in the pharmacy department at the former Food Mart in South Hadley. She was an active member and volunteer at the South Hadley Council on Aging and communicant of St. Patrick's Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved animals especially her grand dogs. She will be remembered for her love of music and dance, playing cards with her circle of friends and bird watching. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Chester Pupek of South Hadley, and four daughters, Donna Pupek of South Hadley, Shirley Hensley and husband Gary of Boise, ID, Fran Pryor and husband Steve of The Villages, FL, and Diane Lynch and husband Mike of South Hadley. She also leaves a sister, Betty Kapise and husband Donald of South Hadley, brother Francis Lysiak of Millers Falls, two grandchildren Alain Hensley and Scott Hensley, great-grandchild, Jordan Hensley and step-granddaughter, Denise French and a step-great granddaughter Devlin French. Calling hours will be Thursday, June 2, 2011 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church. Friends may gather at the funeral home on Friday for 9:00 a.m. The family wishes to extend appreciation to all the staff at Holyoke Health Care Center for their care. Memorial contributions may be made to the South Hadley Council on Aging, 45 Dayton St., S.Hadley, MA 01075 or the Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society, Po box 6307, Springfield, MA 01101. "
