Clara Bozard McCullough went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 20, 2021. Clara was born to John and Felicia Bozard on October 20, 1929 in St Matthews, SC. Clara is preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings: Harvey, Beverly, Durwood, Leroy, Cloyce, Clifford, Myrtis, Hoyt, Thelma, Alvin, and Atheleta. Clara is survived by her husband of 72 years, Elmer McCullough; her children, Delorese (William) Hodge and Wayne (Cheryl) McCullough; grandchildren, Travis (Heather) McCullough, and Ashley (Ginny) McCullough; her great-grandchildren: Bryce McCullough, Sydney McCullough, Blake McCullough, Macy Beckman, and Mady Beckman; and her many nieces and nephews. Clara was married to her husband, Elmer, for 72 years. However, she was keen to point out they had been holding hands for 73 years. Clara’s favorite title was ‘Granny Clara’ that was affectionately given to her by her loving family. To her husband and children, she was the best wife and mother that any of them could have asked for. Clara lived an extremely selfless life. She was known for intentionally planting extra vegetables in her garden to give away to neighbors and friends as well as hand knitting quilts for her family. She also enjoyed her pastimes of making ceramics and playing dominos. She was a member of Broadacres Baptist Church for a number of years and was there every time the doors were open. Clara loved working in her yard, tending to her garden, and butterflies. Clara’s favorite saying was “Be Happy” no matter the situation. A Graveside Service will be held at Southland Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 11:00am. The service will be streamed via Tribucast. To participate, please click here. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that tributes be made to Broadacres Baptist Church and to the Connie Maxwell Childrens’ Home.
