Mr. Clarence B. Hassfurter, Sr., 74, of Amsterdam, NY passed away peacefully at Mt. Lorretto Nursing Home on February 20, 2012. His loving family was by his side. He was born in Tribes Hill, NY on February 21, 1937, the son of the late John & Mable Cromer Hassfurter. Clarence was a life time resident of the area and attended local schools. He was last employed by Fiber Glass Industries as a Truck Driver. He was a long time member of PNA and enjoyed the outdoors, friends and family. His loving family includes his children, Michael Hassfurter Fran Zankis of Schenectady, Jeffrey Hassfurter Shelly of Ephrata, Clarence Hassfurter, Jr.Ronald Palermo of Port Orange, FL, Donald Hassfurter of Kingston, NY, Jane Cabezas of Amsterdam, Paula Hassfurter of Amsterdam and Charlotte Jason Ludwin of Fort Johnson and son in Law Jody Rostowski of Amsterdam; grand children Krishna, Samantha, Stephen, Aaron and Jeffrey II, Great grandchildren, Cinderae, Cameron, Samahra, Logan, Aaron, Blayke and Skyler. He is also survived by sisters Elizabeth "Betty" DelosePete and Franny FondaHoward both of Hagaman. He is predeceased by his daughter Barbara Christman- Rostowski. Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Betz Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave. Amsterdam NY 12010. There will be no visitation, a funeral service will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Mt. Loretto Nursing Home, 302 Swart Hill Road, Amsterdam NY 12010.
