He enjoyed being with his family most and liked anything to do with the Civil War, he traveled to many of the battlefields. He was an amazing listener and sharer of some of his own life experiences. Sonny will be remembered for being a good natured person and was loved by all who know him. “Pop-Pop” will be forever remembered for entertaining his grandkids by teasing them and they in return would hide his candy from him. He was a great father and the “Best Husband” any woman could want. He only belonged to his loving wife Jean. They spent time traveling on long road trips. Together they loved the shore, especially in the early years in Wildwood. Viewing will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm with a Funeral Service to follow at McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ 08096.

McGuinness Funeral Homes - Woodbury

We have served the Woodbury community since 1951, when our founder, James A. McGuinness, opened our first funeral home. He knew the importance of families having a trustworthy, local funeral home to help them memorialize their lost loved ones and navigate grief. Our beautiful funeral home in Woodbury was originally built in the late 1700s, and has since been rebuilt to honor its original charm and comfortable, warm feel. Once you walk through our doors, you become family....
