Claude Edgar Lavoie

Claude Edgar Lavoie, 87, of Rivieire-du-Loop, Quebec Canada, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 18th 2017 at Gordon Hospice House. He was born in Sully, Quebec on March 30th 1930 to Thomas and Anna Cote Lavoie. He was married for 64 years to his loving and devoted wife, Adrienne Morneau Lavoie who survives. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Montcalm, Zephirin, and Raymond, one sister Rita and daughter in law, Linda Lavoie. He worked as a lumberjack for many years and in the poultry industry. In the early 1970's, he moved his family to North Carolina to work for Pilch Hatcheries in Troutman. He was a devout Roman Catholic and a member of St. Phillips the Apostle Church in Statesville as well as the Knights of Columbus. Prior to the onset of Alzheimer's he loved all things outdoors and mechanical, having spent countless hours in his shop. He was a great husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all he loved. Surviving in addition to his wife are 2 sons, Roger Lavoie(Debbie) of Statesville and Remi Lavoie of Harmony. 2 granddaughters Melissa LaVoie Bustle(Robert) of Statesville and Amber LaVoie Kittrell(Bobby) of Winston Salem. 5 great grandchildren, Megan, Natalie and Jesse Bustle. Chloe and Dylan Kittrell. One great-great grandson, Brentley Brown. There will be a private memorial service for family Wednesday and a Mass of Christian burial with interment at a later date in Saint Eluethiere Quebec. The family would like to thank the staff at Brian Center of Statesville, Lisa and Kendall with Hospice Home care and the entire staff of Gordon Hospice House. In lieu of flower, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital. Je Me Souviuens !
