Claude was born in Commerce, Texas on October 4, 1926 to Claude and Minnie Lou Rogers. Claude served in the Army/Air Corp in WW II. He married Janice Langley Rogers in 1949 and they lived in Commerce until their move to Florida in 1995. While in Commerce, Claude worked in his family’s business and with the US Postal Service. After moving to Florida, he enjoyed retirement, traveling with his wife, playing golf, volunteering at church and spending time with his family. His commitment to God will continue to be a blessing to his family for generations. Claude’s family would like to thank all the staff who cared for him at Discovery Village (formerly Sonata), Home Instead and Vitas Hospice. Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by his daughters, Laura Harris (Bill) of Melbourne, FL and Beverly Marsh (Jack) of Boca Raton, FL, along with their children, Zachary Harris of Chicago, IL and Rachel Marsh of Boca Raton. A memorial service to celebrate Claude’s life will be held on Saturday, August 6, at 1:00 AM at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home in Viera. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association at www.m.alz.org. Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home, 5400 Village Drive, Viera is providing services to the family.
