Clifton E. Brownell
February 19th, 1932 - November 29th, 2022
Clifton Ellsworth Brownell, 90, of Lakewood, CO, passed peacefully, surrounded by his family, November 29, 2022. He was born February 19, 1932, in Haynes ND, to Fred and Wauneta Brownell. He later moved with his family to Belle Fourche, SD, and graduated from Belle Fourche High School in the Class of ’50. Clifton served in the Army National Guard and Active Duty as Army Staff Sergeant 1948 – 1952 in Colorado and Alaska, and later graduated from the University of Montana in 1961 with a degree in physical sciences. He worked for the Bureau of Land Management as a Real Estate Appraiser from 1961 to 1986, and following his retirement was self-employed as a consultant, worked as an ambassador for Applewood Golf Course in Golden, CO, and built two homes for his family. Clif is survived by his wife, Jeanine Brownell, their sons Randle Eric, Christopher Raymond and Cory Mitchell Brownell, and niece Kimy Jo Rodgers; grandchildren Kayla Rae Brownell, Brandon Joseph Brownell and Tyler Mitchell Brownell; great-grandchildren Kalaya Rayne Burkheart, Keeva Ryan Brownell and Jamison Ryker Brownell. All of the family have remained close to Clif and Jeanine in the Denver area, with the exception of Tyler Brownell, who is continuing his education in Potsdam, Germany and Dublin, Ireland. A graveside service will be conducted at Fort Logan National Military Cemetery, Monday December 19, 2022, at 2:00 pm. Please use the North Gate off of South Sheridan Boulevard, follow signs for funeral entrance and staging area C. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Lutheran Collier Hospice.
