Clinton H. Brown

Clinton Hoyt Brown Clinton H. Brown, 92, died February 24, 2009 in Olympia, WA. He was born January 1, 1917 in Lincoln, NE to Charles R. and Vera A. (Mendelssohn) Brown. He graduated from John Marshall High School in Los Angeles, CA in 1935; University of Oregon in 1959; and University of Oregon Dental School in 1961. In June 1937 he married Dorothy Steele Patton and later divorced in 1943. On September 21, 1944 in Santa Barbara, CA he married Hazel Pauline Benn, who survives. He worked for Southern California Telephone Co. from 1936 to 1946; Myrtle Creek, OR Body and Fender 1946 to 1953. After dental school he practiced dentistry in Portland OR from 1961 to 1972, Skagway and Haines, AK from 1972 to 1980, and in Manzanita, OR from 1980 to 1987. His hobbies included genealogy and jewelry making. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Including his wife Hazel Pauline, Clinton is survived by sons, Gary Charles (Ruth) of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Robert Eugene (Marylin) of Olympia, WA, Phillip Allen (Cheryl) of Camas, WA; daughters, Linda Lee Coleman of Sun Valley, CA, Susan Pauline Allen of Kenai, AK, and Sandra Diann Hodges (David) of Portland, OR; also 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 27, 2009 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 9341 4th Avenue NE, Olympia, WA, 98516. A graveside committal will follow the funeral at Masonic Memorial Park, 455 North St. SE, Tumwater, WA.
