Clyde Carroll Osborne
February 5th, 1935 - February 25th, 2022
Clyde Carroll Osborne, 87, of Charlotte, passed away February 25, 2022. Born February 5, 1935 in Pineville, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Clyde Melton and Mary Carroll Osborne. Clyde was fiercely independent and when asked if someone could help he was known for his response of "I'd Rather Do It Myself". As a devout Christian, he was a member of Pineville Church of the Nazarene. He loved the Lord, his family, nature and fishing. Clyde was also a member of the American Bass Masters and enjoyed his annual fishing trips to Canada. Clyde is survived by his adoring daughter, Debbie Owenby and her husband, Danny; grandson, Steven Jackson; granddaughter, Crista Rece and her husband, Jason; great grandchildren whom he cherished: Layla and Abel Rece; double first cousins that were like his brothers: Jack, Kenny and Marion Osborne; and many more loving family and friends. In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by the love of his life, Geraldine "Gerri" Wright Osborne, and his brother, Ward. His determination was an inspiration to many and he will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends at 12 Noon with services to be held at 1:00PM on Monday, February 28, 2022 at Pineville Church of the Nazarene, 8614 Pineville-Matthews Road Charlotte, NC. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park, Charlotte. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pineville Church of the Nazarene: https://pineville.church/. Feel free to leave the family your condolences via the Tribute Wall provided.

The growth of our service and the community's support led to our move in March 1963 to the current location—once St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, built in 1930. Our chapel, a cherished historic landmark within the storied Dilworth neighborhood, is renowned for being the only funeral home in Charlotte graced with its own chapel, echoing with decades of history and serenity....
