Colleen E. Fitzsimmons

Colleen E. Fitzsimmons, 43, of West Harrison, NY, formerly of Thiells, NY, passed away on September 27, 2021 after a 14 year heroic battle with brain tumors. Born in the Bronx, Colleen moved to Thiells when she was one year old. She was a graduate of North Rockland High School, class of 1996. She received her BS/MS degree in Physical Therapy from Springfield College and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Her rewarding career as a Physical Therapist spanned twenty years. She married her best friend, William Paul, on April 29, 2017. Always a sports enthusiast, Colleen completed the NYC Marathon in 2008. She practiced yoga regularly throughout her lifetime. She enjoyed traveling and always loved her NY Yankees. Colleen is survived by her husband William Paul, her step-children Brianna and Dylan Paul, her parents Robert and Mary Fitzsimmons, her brother and sister-in-law Robert and Jill Fitzsimmons, her niece Erin Fitzsimmons, her nephews Daniel and John Fitzsimmons, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Ellen and Patrick Mallon. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, many lifelong friends and her dog, Teddy. She will be missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 1, 4pm-8pm at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home, Garnerville. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 2, 10am, at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church followed by interment at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Nanuet. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering.
