Conner Lee Landa, 14, went to be in the hands of our Heavenly Father April 27, 2009 in Homedale, Idaho. Conner was born on June 22, 1994 in Caldwell, Idaho to Chris and Virginia Landa. He was the middle brother to Reece and Kyler. If anything sums up Conner Landa, it was his competitive, but kind spirit. From the minute he was born, he was going after something, whether it be a ball on the court or food on the table. Conner's passion was sports. He began playing tee ball and soccer at an early age, but later participated in everything from football to track, wrestling, golf, baseball, snowboarding and water sports. He was a member of the Homedale Trojans J.V Football, Freshman Basketball and J.V. Golf teams and the AAU Treasure Valley All Stars. Conner really loved basketball; last season he led his freshman team in scoring and was also a defensive spark for the Trojans. His athletic drive was only rivaled by his sportsman-like conduct on and off the court, field or course, and he had many friends on competing teams. Conner did not just excel in the athletics, he was an honor roll student as well. Conner was enjoying his first year of Basque dancing as a member of the Oinkari Basque Dancers. He was involved in 4-H and competed in FFA at the Owyhee County Fair showing pigs in the summer, and just last month, Basque dancing in the talent portion of the State FFA Competition. Fall was a favorite time of year for Conner, because he loved cheering on his two favorite teams - the Boise State Broncos and the Minnesota Vikings. He was always excited for winter as well, because he often took vacations with his parents, brothers and family friends, most recently to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. The only thing great than Conner's appetite for food, was his appetite for life. He was a free-spirit, willing to try anything and was always a gentleman who would offer his help to anyone in need. Friends and family say that when thinking about Conner, they will remember his goofy, handsome smile and infectious laugh. Conner is watching over his parents Chris and Virginia; brothers Reece and Kyler; grandparents Julian and Weneda Landa and Lester and Zella Frerichs; uncles and aunts Dan and Vicky Landa, Larry and Korene Landa, and Dan Frerichs; cousins Ryan and Kati Landa, Jacq Landa, Danielle, Chris and Colin Brazil, Taylor and Heather Landa, Hannah and Travis Schneider, Matt Landa and Spencer Frerichs; and many, many good friends. Conner joins his paternal great-grandparents John and Martina Landa and his maternal great-grandparents Herbert and Maybelle Zieber in heaven. Conner, our angel - your fearless nature, delightful humor and competitive spirit inspire us all. We will miss you forever and think of you always. A viewing for Conner's friends and family will take place tonight, April 30th at the Txoko Ona Basque Center in Homedale from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Services will be under the direction of Flahiff's Funeral Chapel, Homdedale and will be Friday, May 1st, 3:30 p.m. at Homedale High School. Interment will follow at Marsing -Homedale Cemetery. A dinner will follow at Txoko Ona. The family is requesting that instead of flowers, donations be made to the Conner Landa Memorial Scholarship Fund. Donations can be made at any Intermountain Community Bank location or Homedale High School. Service Information
