Connie Marie Haynes Cook, 75, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away peacefully on Friday, September 20, 2024.
A native of Sissonville, WV, Connie was the daughter of the late Kenneth Roland Haynes and Evelyn Marie Boggess Haynes, who survives. Connie enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren at their sporting and school events and activities. She loved to travel, especially to the beach and going on cruises. Most of all, Connie put her children and family first.
In addition to her mother, Connie is survived by her three children, Michelle Currence and husband, Virgil, John Cook, Jr. and wife, Stephanie, and Cassey Jester and husband, Chris; five grandchildren, Brittany Hawks, Brianna Gilmore and husband, Demetri, Corey Cook, Jared Cook, and Dylan Jester and wife, Megan; four great grandchildren, Haisley Hawks, Ryland Gilmore, Zealand Gilmore, and Breeland Gilmore; two sisters, Beverly Marshall and husband, Gary, and Dreama Miller and husband, L.J.; brother, Kenneth Bryan Haynes; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services celebrating Connie’s life will be held at 12:00PM Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Baux Mountain Baptist Church, 4334 Lake Woussicket Road, Germanton, NC 27019 with Pastor Robert Collins, Alvin Jester, and Rev. Gary Styers officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Walkertown. The family will greet friends from 11:00AM to 12:00PM Tuesday prior to the service at the church.
