To my best friend Jack, I was there with you when you bungee jumped out of the hot air balloon. I was there in the plane when we went skydiving. And I was riding the Black Hills of Sturgis along side of him.

So sorry for your loss. You are in our thought and prayers.

"Papa Jack" was always so kind and loving to me and although he was not my actual grandfather he held a special place in my heart. My brothers have always spoken so fondly of their grandpa and I know he will be missed greatly. Heaven just got a little better.

To the Wellnitz Family,
   I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences for your recent loss, death bring about sadness, stress and pain of heart. God promised that one day we will live without the fear of growing old, getting sick and dying, even our dead loved ones who are sleeping in the grave will enjoy life again by means of the resurrection. Christ Jesus said "Do not be amazed at this, because the hour is coming in with all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice aand come out" (John 5:28,29). Isn't that a wonderful expectation? imagine Mr. Wellnitz and others restored to life on earth under much different condition, Almighty God has not only the power but also the desire to resurrect persons whom he chooses (Isaiah 25:8; John 11:11-14,38-44 and Revelation 21:3-5).

Denny was a classmate of mine. I have very fond memories of him.  He always made us laugh more especially in study hall.  We were assigned tables & he sat at my table.  We were suppose to be studying but with Denny we had to muffle our laughter.  I know that he has ran the race & finished it.  May those he left behind know that they shall all be reunited again. Sadness may last for a time but memories will continue on & on..

Bruce had many memorable attributes, but the image we return to time and again is of his working on and around his home across the street from ours, wearing blue jean cut-offs and suspenders. Always a ready grin and a laugh, always willing to help us out if we were in need. And the special days when he and Margaret would pull out of the driveway early in the morning in the Model A, giving a toot and a wave and a smile. He is missed.

Your parents were great neighbors. I have fond memories of Jack and Polly when I think back on our years on Canosa Ct. I think of chatting with them over the backyard fence, the smell of your dad’s cigars, your dad telling me his latest jokes and of picking their raspberries. That is a nice obituary on your dad.

Sorry for you loss. Your Father and Mother befriended me when I came to Colorado in 1963. My Great Aunt Celia Treseder was the connection and the Ted Ryan Family from when my parents were in Chicago. Pauline was most kind but your father had a heart of gold. My prayers will be for each of you

sorry to hear of jacks passing since the late 1970’s i had the privilege of being jacks friend he was my dads age but he was just one of my buddies we used to golf and play poker together. many times i would see jack and polly up in central city. it was always interesting to hear jack tell of his denver post days and his complete memory of all of denvers streets in their proper order. we also used to exchange jokes long before the internet jack would love to say i heard that one back in 1939 or 1945 he will be missed by all thanks for the fun times yors truly kappy(michael kaplan)

He had a hard life during his first 20 years but with his hard work achived much. He was a very good friend and will be missed. You all provided him a long and happy life in his last years in witch you should be proud. He is at rest now, with no pain or worries.

I was very proud to have known and worked with Jack for over 20 years at the The Denver Post in the circulation dept. My sympathy goes out to his son Jack and both daughters, Carol Ann and Sunny. Sincerely Larry Plummer

I knew Jack as a client of my employer but over the years I regarded him as a friend. Always quick with a joke, Jack was a delight to talk to anytime he called. His health problems were acute during those years but he never let anyone believe he felt anything other than happy. For that I believe he was the smartest man I ever met. I’ll miss ya, Jack…and remain glad I knew ya.

Jack Means

As a young teenager, Big brother Jack was often my transportation. One Saturday night Jack took me to town to meet up with my friends while he had a day with Carolyn. Well, I waited and waited and finally the night Marshal came and asked if I needed a ride home. We lived in the country, up a half mile mud lane. Meanwhile, mom had realized Jack was home but I wasn’t. So, Jack had to get up, walk back down the lane and drive to town. Eventually we both made it home and this became a memory to laugh about years later.  I’ll miss my big brother Jack.
