"Belchertown, Conrad R. Kirby, 81, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on October 14. Born in Holyoke on May 7, 1936 he was the son of H. Conrad and Margaret (Ford) Kirby. He resided in South Hadley for many years, and as a Snowbird in Florida for 22 years. He relocated to the family homestead in Belchertown in 2002. Conrad worked as an engineer at Proctor and Gamble for many years before his retirement in 1996. He enjoyed boating, hunting, fishing, rides on his Harley Davidson, and cherished time with his family. He will be deeply and forever missed by his wife of 42 years, Shirley (Clifford), along with children, Cindy Jenks and her partner, Wayne Lamoureux of Chicopee, Steven Ciesones and his wife Raquel of Colchester, CT, Richard Kirby and his wife Debra of Chicago, and Sharon Duffus and her husband William of South Hadley. His 10 precious grandchildren, Jenny Lee, Jeffrey, Amber, Richard, Jonathan, Stephanie, Christine, William, Michael and Shari and 9 great grandchildren along with his brother, Edward Kirby and his longtime partner, Martha Barrett of Belchertown also survive him. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his son in law, William Jenks. All services are private and Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
