Conrad Loos
January 20th, 1922 - December 4th, 2010
Conrad Loos, Jr., 88, of Evans, CO passed away December 4, 2010 at North Colorado Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born January 20, 1922 in Lincoln, NE to Conrad and Katherine Elizabeth (Kahler) Loos, Sr. Conrad entered the US Army in 1942. He was stationed in the Pacific where he was a heavy machine gunner and was in the Army Engineers. He received two bronze service stars. After being discharged in December of 1945 he returned to Nebraska to work at the packing plant. Conrad worked for the railroad from 1950 to 1960 when he moved to Colorado. On January 19, 1946 he married Gladys Ostrom in Marysville, KS. In 1986 he married Lillian Fink in Evans. Conrad was an active member of VFW Post 2121 for 60 years. He also was past member of the Moose lodge and Eagles Club in LaSalle. He enjoyed fishing, Nebraska football, the Denver Broncos and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was passionate about being a school crossing guard for District 6 at 23rd Avenue and Reservoir Road. On September 11th he was able to go to Washington, D.C. with the Honor Flight accompanied by his guardian son-in-law, Forest Cale. Conrad is survived by his wife, Lillian; daughters, Carol Loos, Donna (Forest) Cale, Connie (Mike) Mitchell, Katherine "Katie” (Glendon) Lay; sons, Robert (Peggy) Loos, Rick (Nina) Loos; step-children, Janice (Joe) Meyers, Jack (Dianne) James, Shirley (Gary) Zablow, Linda James; 20 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; brother, Jacob Loos and sister, Marian Edgman. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys; parents; grandchildren, Amy, Alexis, Jeremy; great grandson, Michael; brothers, Edward and Adam Loos; sisters, Clara Snuffin and Frieda Snell; an infant brother and sister. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at Adamson Chapel. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Adamson Chapel followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the "Conrad Loos Family” in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
