Conrad Pendell

Conrad Pendell Conrad Pendell of Eugene (formerly of Grants Pass) passed away on April 5, 2015 after a long battle with Emphysema. Conrad was born September 23, 1936 in Macomb IL to Grant and Irene Pendell. The Pendell family came to Oregon in 1948. Originally settling in Grants Pass where Conrad graduated from Grants Pass High School, Class of 1955. He went directly into the Air Force after high school, proudly serving his country. In 1959 the family moved to Eugene/Springfield area. On June 23, 1965 Conrad married Anna Marie Whipps, they were together for more than 53 years and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this June. Conrad retired from The Lane County Road Crew in 1998 after 26 years of service. Everyone knew what Conrad would have in his lunch, two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and of course some chocolate cake! Survivors include his wife Anna, son Jack (Shannon), grandchildren Jessica & Adam of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, son Greg, (Ronda,) grandchildren Garrett, Kelita, Katie, & Aaron of Mount Kisco NY, Brother Don, of Springfield, Sister Anne (Richard) of Portland, sister Jenny and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Conrad loved many things in life, camping, reading, traveling, taking cruises, rock shows, and making jewelry. There was never a good reason to not load up the motorhome and travel to see friends and family across the country. He and Anna spent many nights watching the stars. Our family would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to Oregon Lung Associates and Peacehealth Hospice for the care and compassion. Please join us for a Celebration of Conrad’s life on Saturday April 11th at 2:00 at West Lawn Chapel, 225 S Danebo Ave., Eugene, OR 97402. Military honors will be served at the Celebration of life In lieu of flowers, please donate to Disabled Veterans of America or Peacehealth Hospice Arrangements entrusted to West Lawn Memorial Funeral Home.
