Constance (Connie) Bailey Rosenblum, 87, passed away July 18, 2021 at home in Lexington, SC. She had been a resident of Wellmore of Lexington Assisted Living for almost 4 years. Born January 25, 1934, in Lumberton, NC, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Tabor Bailey and Lottie Brisson Bailey. She was the loving wife of Saul Rosenblum for more than 57 years. Saul preceded her in death in 2018 after a brief illness. Connie attended Lumberton High School, where she was an active and accomplished pianist and member of the Beta Club. She graduated from Kings Business College in Raleigh, NC. Connie worked for the Boy Scouts of America and then the Department of the Army, where she met and married her late husband, Major Saul Rosenblum, and spent 20 years as a supportive military spouse. After that, she, along with her husband, opened dry-cleaning businesses, last known as Carriage Cleaners, on Forest Drive in Columbia. They worked daily in their store for 28 years before retiring a second time. Connie genuinely enjoyed all the people she met during those years serving the public. Connie was also the proud and loving mother of her daughters, Lisa Sharpe of Lexington, and Suzan Merten and her husband, John, of Roanoke, VA. She will also be most known as Nana to many friends, family, and especially her grandchildren, who she loved dearly: Charles Levinson of Lexington, SC, Connor Sharpe of Philadelphia, PA, Sarah Merten, William Merten, and James Merten, all of Richman, VA, and Anna Merten of Charlotte, NC. Although Connie was an only child, she dearly loved her cousin, Helma English of Bladenboro, NC like a true sister. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am, Monday, July 26, 2021, at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC, 29073. As a military spouse, Connie will be privately buried at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family wishes to extend an incredibly special thank you to Danielle Taylor (Mom so loved you) of Live Long Well Care and her staff of compassionate caregivers. Also, we are grateful to Dr. Stan McCloy and All Seasons Hospice for making mom’s final journey peaceful. And lastly, thank you to Wellmore of Lexington, especially the staff in Washington AL; she loved you all very much. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family.
