Cora Suzanne Couto

In Memory of Cora Suzanne Couto 1946-2019 Cora Suzanne Couto, age 72, of Summerville went to her heavenly home on Sunday, April 28, 2019. Suzanne was born in Great Falls, South Carolina on October 22, 1946 to Preston and Rachel Day Moss. She was a graduate of the University of South Carolina nursing program. She practiced nursing for over 30 years. She always said her calling in life was to take care of people and anyone who knew her could attest to her caring nature. She worked at Trident Hospital for 27 years of her nursing career until her retirement. Suzanne’s pride and joy were her grandchildren. She would spend her time telling others about her grandchildren’s activities, accomplishments and the joy they brought to her life. Suzanne enjoyed coffee, going to breakfast at Waffle House with her husband, sitting outside on beautiful days, shopping with her daughter and spending time reading God’s Word and listening to the choir sing in church. Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her faithful husband of 27 years, Donald M. Couto, who took care of her and was by her side since she had a stroke in 2006; daughter, Andrea Walters and husband Michael Walters of Easley, SC; grandchildren, McKenna Walters and Landon Walters; daughters Jessica Couto and Christina Couto, son Donny Couto; siblings Randy Moss and Robbie Stroud; nephews Lance Moss and Bobby Stroud and niece Jordan Stroud. The family will be holding a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, May 25th at 11:00 a.m. at Knightsville United Methodist Church, 1505 Central Avenue, Summerville.
