Coralie "Wells" E. Wells
November 2nd, 1940 - May 8th, 2010
Coralie E Wells, age 69, of Indian Harbour Beach, FL, left us on May 8, 2010 after a short battle with lung cancer. Born in Wilmington, DE. Coralie grew up in Wilmington, DE, attended Christ our King School, and Ursuline Academy. She attended Catholic University in Washington DC and received her PHD at the University of Minnesota. In 1968 she joined the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in the Department of Psychology. Stevens Point was her home for over 20 years and where she and her former husband, Donald Dietrich, raised their family. In 1993 she became Chair of the Department of Psychology. Ms. Wells retired from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2002 and moved to Indian Harbour Beach, FL where she enjoyed the ocean and beach as well as traveling abroad to many destinations. She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, where she served as part of the Outreach to the Sick program. Coralie was an avid volunteer at the Brevard Art Museum and the Sea Turtle Preservation Society. Coralie was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Jeannie Wells. She is survived by her children: Kathy Johnston of Waxhaw, NC Stephen Dietrich of Golden, CO, and Martin Dietrich of Medway, MA; 7 grandchildren; and sister Diane Wilson of Nashville, TN. A funeral mass will be said at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church on Thursday May, 20, 2010 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to: Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Brevard Art Museum or the Sea Turtle Preservation Society.
