Councill Courtland Rudolph
October 11th, 1931 - March 4th, 2002
Rudolph, Councill Courtland ?Brudge?, Jr., 70, of Orlando, formerly of St. Petersburg, died Monday, March 4, 2002 at home. A native of St. Petersburg, Mr. Rudolph was the son of Councill Courtland Rudolph, Sr. St. Petersburg?s first Pediatrician and Elizabeth Nelson Rudolph. He was a graduate of the McCallie School in Chattanooga, TN and a 1953 graduate of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville majoring in English. He was also a 1955 graduate of the University of Florida, School of Agriculture. He was a member of the Kappa Alpha KA Fraternity at both colleges. Locally, he owned and operated a turf business from 1955 ? 1960 and was instrumental in installing such projects as Lakewood Country Club where he was also the groundskeeper for several years. In 1961, he began working for Arch W. Roberts & Company and moved to the bond department at Reynolds & Company in 1964. In 1965, he was transferred to Jacksonville, where he established the Bond Department for Goodbody & Company now part of Merrill Lynch and later moved to Winter Park in 1967 to establish the bond department there for Goodbody & Company. Mr. Rudolph returned to St. Petersburg in 1970 where he was employed by Arch W. Roberts & Company until 1990 when he went to work for Raymond James. In 1991, he returned to Winter Park where he was employed in the municipal bond department of J.C. Bradford & Co. from 1992 until his retirement in 1994. In 1996, Mr. Rudolph joined the cast of Walt Disney World where he was still actively employed at the time of his death. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in St. Petersburg and a life-long member of the Dragon Club. He was also actively involved for many years in the Booster Club at Shorecrest Preparatory School. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Dianne; three sons, Courtland Lee Rudolph of St. Petersburg, Gary Allan Rudolph of Alexandria, VA, and James Nelson Rudolph of Winter Springs, FL; a daughter, Dianne Brooke Jenkins of Orlando, FL; and four grandchildren: Andrea Brooke Jenkins, Peyton Wayne Jenkins, Courtland James Rudolph and John Lee Rudolph. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations in his memory to the ALS Association, 27001 Agoura Road, Suite 150, Calabasas Hills, CA 91301.
