Craig Allen Wells, age 57, of Greensboro, NC, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on October 1, 2016. Craig was born November 17th, 1958, in Endicott, NY, to Jane and Earl Wells. He later moved with his family to Potomac, MD, Wilmington, NC, and eventually settled in Greensboro, NC. Surviving Craig are his parents of the home, sisters Linda Wells (Colorado Springs, CO) and Dawn Wells Gneiser (Joseph, Greensboro), his brother-in-law John Pearson (Southlake, TX) and several nieces and nephews. Craig was predeceased by his loving sister, Debra L. Wells, and two shelties he named Lady who received him in Heaven with open arms and wagging tails. Craig was loved by many, especially his mom who cared for him tirelessly throughout his life. Earl, as Craig called his dad, made sure he had a wonderful life and spent many hours with him doing errands, visiting friends, or just driving around town. Though disabled, Craig was well known wherever he lived and was welcomed by friends and neighbors, endearing himself to all, showing up in either his John Deere tractor or adult tricycle to say hello. He loved people and everyone delighted in his warm, happy personality, his funny antics and were struck by his perceptive intuitions of others' feelings. Craig had many exceptional abilities. In his youth he played drums along with any chosen song from his jukebox, which was well stocked with many KC and the Sunshine Band and other funky tunes. He was always the first in the family to figure out all the workings of any new stereo equipment and the go-to person for directions getting around town in the car. Craig loved coloring pictures with markers and they were often his gifts to others. Special thanks to Craig's wonderful caregivers, Jimmi and Rashida, and Michelle from Greensboro Hospice and Palliative Care. We would also like to thank Craig's childhood friend, Eric Stewart, who came to visit him often no matter the circumstances. There will be a private ceremony with family and friends to celebrate Craig's life. Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home will be assisting the family and condolences can be made to www.lambethtroxler.com. The family requests that donations be sent in honor of Craig and Debra Wells to UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dr. Brugarolas Lab, Box 91088 Dallas TX 75391-0888 or www3.utsouthwestern.edu/brugarolaslab/donate.php. It is our hope that Dr. Brugarolas' research will determine the cause of familia 1 kidney cancer and eventually find a cure.
