Cristal Flaugher Sammeth

“The daughter of Herbert and Winifred Flaugher, Cris was born and raised in Ivydale, West Virginia. She had two older brothers and a younger sister. During WWII, due to the shortage of workers caused by most men being in the military, Cris moved to Baltimore to work for Western Electric for the war effort. There she met George, who was to share with her a blessed marriage of 64 years. Cris has been a member of Brentwood United Methodist Church since 1960, when a job move relocated the family to Denver. She worked part-time for Montgomery Ward taking catalog orders over the telephone in the 1960s and 1970s. Cris, George and family enjoyed numerous vacation trips. After the children had grown and left home, Cris and George continued to travel widely in this country, and also to Japan and Germany. Cris immensely enjoyed spending time with her family and with her many friends. Cris is survived by her loving husband and three children, Teresa (Ron) Willis, George (Jean) Sammeth, Jr., and Carol (Doug) Sammeth-Miller. Other survivors include eight grandchildren, John (Lily) Riedel, Tom (Cathy) Riedel, Andrew Sammeth, Tessa Miller, Laura Miller, Emily Miller, Katherine Willis, Olivia Willis, and three great-grandchildren, Cash Riedel, Konnor Riedel, and Laney Riedel. She was preceded in death by her brothers, George and Mural, and by her sister Jean. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Brentwood U.M.C. in Cris
