Born on August 23, 1936 in Sandy Run, SC, she was the daughter of the late Montague F. and Carrie R. Moorer. Cynthia graduated from St. Matthews High School in Calhoun County, and retired from the South Carolina Highway Department. We will miss her love of family, wonderful sense of humor, and her determination to never give up and to keep moving forward. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Dennis James Murphy. The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC on Thursday, August 5, 2021, from 1:00-1:45pm.
