D. Patrick Curtis was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and grew up in Albany, New York. He passed away on January 15, 2010 at the age of sixty after a short illness. He is the son of Betty Curtis and the late Thomas Curtis both of Albany, New York, and brother of the late Michael Curtis, also of Albany. He is survived by his son Kevin O'Connor(Laurel) of Farfax, Virginia and his granddaughter Claire O'Connor. He is also survived by his former wife Susan Curtis of Washington DC and by family in Indianapolis. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Civil Liberties Union at action.aclu.org.
