Dale W. Fiscus
November 11th, 1932 - January 8th, 2018
Dale W. Fiscus, 85, of Greeley, CO formerly of New Raymer, CO passed away peacefully on January 8, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. Dale was born November 11, 1932 to Clarence and Martha Margaret Roby Fiscus 6 miles north of New Raymer, CO. He went to school in New Raymer until the 5th grade and continued his education in Buckingham, CO where he graduated in 1950; which was the last graduating class before they tore the school down. He worked for Gate’s Rubber Company and met his future wife, Nancy Lee Porter through a classmate from school. On their first date they went to the Rainbow Ballroom and danced to Hank Thompson; three months later they were married in the largest church in Denver at the time with only five people attending. After 11 years of marriage, Dale and Nancy adopted Steve and Lisa; in which Dale felt this completed his family. He worked as a ranch hand in various states where in one summer he broke 108 horses and participated in rodeos; he also worked as a radio operator for the building of the missile silos in Northeastern Colorado, all before he started his career as an over the road truck driver for more than 25 years. He retired in Greeley,. Dale enjoyed rodeos, playing his guitar, Bluegrass music, watching old western movies and T.V. shows, spending time with his grandchildren and he was a member of the West Greeley Baptist Church. Dale is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Steve (Lynetta) Fiscus and Lisa (Dallas) Werner; grandchildren, Derek and Shannon Werner and Chance and Caleb Fiscus; brothers, Glen (Lois) Fiscus and Jack (Shirley) Fiscus and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Dean Fiscus and Edna Fiscus. A Graveside Service will be at 9:00 A.M. Friday, January 12, 2018 at the New Raymer Cemetery in New Raymer, CO followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 noon at West Greeley Baptist Church, 3251 W. 22nd St.
